Nice and smart image, it has also powerful symbolic meaning, but not quite adhering to rule of 1/3. See the difference below. Having that in mind, don’t get me wrong, your image is very good as it is, especially because pulling the “girl” so close to the edge feels like she’s held against the wall. In fact, for these reasons, and for this particular “message”, your composition works better than rule of 1/3. It’s just that it doesn’t answer the given topic very well, which was the exercising of 1/3 composition. But overall it’s an excellent image.

Asymmetry, rule of thirds: Absolutely perfect!!!!

  3. Neko says:

Well, actually I do think that arranging in the following way would both comply more to rule of 1/3 and look better, with more “sky”. :)

  4. Neko says:

Asymmetry, diagonal: Good, very nice image! :)

  5. Neko says:

Negative shape, low contrast (07-11-15): Yes, very good! I like the way you represented the negative shape in it’s more simple and straightforward way, with no additional elements (which would be completely unnecessary). Also nice color and shades, looks like a cover of some (minimal music) album cover!

    Stork nest photo: Beautiful photo!
